In the wake of the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, Niara Perry’s poem, "Dear Little Black Baby," was used for a fundraising campaign. The responses to the poem were moving and, after a lifetime of writing, they realized that their self-soothing practice could create connections for others, as well.
